Install with ease

Tank Overflow Kits come with outlets, gaskets, mosquito-proof Mozzie Stoppa screens and screws. With everything you need in the box, installation couldn’t be easier. Our Slim Socket design also minimises the protrusion of the overflow from the tank wall – available in 90mm and 100mm.

Mosquito Macro

Mosquito-proof your outlets

Our mosquito-proof 0.955 micron stainless steel mesh protects the quality of your rainwater by keeping mosquitoes and other insects and animals out of your tanks. This also keeps you compliant in areas where mosquito-proofing is required by law.

Tank Overflows provide additional security for your tank’s connections, and allow you to effectively manage overflowing water. Tank Overflows also allow you to increase your water tank’s storage, enabling you more ability to plan for volume.

  • Installation
    1. If you do not have an existing tank overflow hole in your tank, use your tank overflow as a template to mark the size of the hole you need to cut in the side of your tank, then cut using a hole saw. Ensure that the bottom of the hole you cut sits lower than the bottom of the tank inlet and/or tank inlet screen.
    2. Ensure that the gasket is fitted firmly around the tank overflow fitting, then push it in place inside the tank overflow hole.
    3. Hold the overflow as you screw it in place, applying equal force to each screw. We recommend alternating between each screw, screwing on opposite sides, and avoiding fully tightening the screws until the end. Be sure not to overtighten the gasket.
    4. To install your Mozzie Stoppa Original, simply press into your tank overflow. DO NOT GLUE IT IN PLACE.
  • Maintenance

We recommend regularly cleaning your Mozzie Stoppa Original to prevent the mosquito-proof screen from becoming clogged or blocked with sediments and debris.

To clean, remove your Mozzie Stoppa Original from your tank overflow. Replace the Mozzie Stoppa Original immediately after cleaning by pressing it back into your tank overflow.

My tank is overflowing at the inlet rather than the overflow. What should I do?

    1. Check that your tank screen is free from debris, ie. leaves, sediment
    2. Your tank outlet may be restricted by a blocked Mozzie Stoppa or another obstruction.
    3. Check your overflow for the presence of an obstruction and remove.
    4. Alternately, the level of your tank overflow may sit above the base of your tank inlet.
    5. Check that the outlet pipe is equal to or greater than the combined capacity of the pipe feeding your tank inlet
    6. If a Mozzie Stoppa is installed, remove, inspect and clean if necessary before reinstalling it at the overflow or replacing with a Mozzie Stoppa Easy-Clean.

If your inlet/overflow issue persists, remove your tank screen and check for floating debris on the water surface. Floating debris such as sworf from the tank installation process’ may be blocking the Mozzie Stoppa during overflow and drifting away from the overflow when overflow has stopped.

Should I choose a regular tank overflow kit or a high level kit?

High or extra high tank overflows offer a simple and effective way to increase your tank’s storage capacity.

Whichever tank overflow product you choose to use, your overflow needs to sit below the base of your tank inlet screen. The advantage of the high level overflow is that it raises the maximum water level within the tank.

    What size should I choose?

The diameter of the overflow must be equal to or larger than the diameter of the inlet pipe.

What’s included in my tank overflow kit?

Each tank overflow kit comes with a tank overflow, mosquito-proof Mozzie Stoppa screen, a gasket and screws so you have everything you neeed for installation. The size of the components included in your kit will depend upon the product you order and are listed on each individual product page. (For product-specific information, visit the product page for your chosen tank overflow kit via the links above.)

Which way should I orient my high level overflow?

The bend on your high level tank overflow should face up towards the top of your tank in order to increase your tank’s storage volume and overflow height.

Can I install my high level overflow sideways?

Yes. We recommend installing your high level overflow with the bend facing directly upwards, however, it can also be installed on an angle to adjust the upper level. This may be necessary to ensure the overflow level stays below the base of your tank inlet and/or tank inlet screen.

Can I glue my Mozzie Stoppa Original in place?

No. The Mozzie Stoppa Original (TATO05) is not self-cleaning, so it requires periodic removal and cleaning. The socket and spigot feature ribbing that provides a secure, non-glue fit. (For full installation instructions, see the Support page for your chosen tank overflow kit.)

Can I glue my Mozzie Stoppa Easy-Clean in place?

Yes. (For full installation instructions, see the Support page for your chosen tank overflow kit.)
