The Leaf Eater Stream with The Hood captures every drop of rainwater thanks to its splashproof Hood cover. Since the hood prevents splashing, it is also the perfect solution for patios and areas adjacent to buildings where water or leaf splashing is not permitted.
The Leaf Eater Stream with The Hood has a 955 micron stainless steel mesh screen which prevents mosquitos, pests and insects from entering your rain harvesting system and contaminating your water supply. The screen also provides an effective barrier against leaves and debris which can stain and discolour your rainwater and household appliances with tannins.
Simply lift The Hood off the Leaf Eater Stream rain head for quick and easy maintenance. Remove any accumulated materials from the mesh screen either manually or with a hose and then bring The Hood back down to its original position once cleaning is complete.
The Hood eliminates splashing for maximum rainwater catchment, while keeping pests and leaves from your system with its 955 micron mesh screen.

Installation Guide
Locate the position at which you want to install your Leaf Eater Stream rain head. This may be directly under your gutter/eave or mid-way down your vertical downpipes. Wherever you choose to install it, your Leaf Eater Stream rain head must be a minimum of 500mm above your tank inlet and tank overflow pipe. Also note that if you’re installing a Leaf Eater Stream with The Hood, you will need to choose an installation location that allows you to perform more frequent maintenance.
Occasionally your Leaf Eater Stream will require occasional maintenance.
Simply slide the cover up your inlet pipe to access the mesh screen. You can either keep the screen in place and brush off the debris, or remove the screen entirely to clean it more thoroughly.
After cleaning, replace the screen into the body, making sure the it is evenly seated.
Replace your Hood Cover by sliding it up your inlet pipe and lowering into position so that the lower skirt sits in the gap between the screen and the body.
